Uganda Through the Lens

My hard drive is full of photographs which have never been released or sorted through. It’s nice when I take the time to pull up some of them and have a look at my work – there’s nothing like giving a photograph a life!

The above photographs were all taken on my travels through Uganda back in May and June of 2008. Most of the photographs from this set came from my exploration of the capital city of Kampala or from my overnight stay in the border town of Kabale in western Uganda. It rained heavily that one night there. My room at the traveler’s lodge was so poorly insulated, I could hear all the people and animals splashing as they walked along the road on the other side of the wall – which was nothing more than a sheet of metal – and my bed was damp from the moist air. In the morning I walked around the streets with my camera for a brief time before packing the car and heading off to the Rwandan border.
